Ramon Portelli is a self-taught photographer. Despite having no formal education in the field he was exposed to the arts and architecture at a very early age with his grandfather Frank Portelli the modernist artist and his father Henri who is an architect.
His favorite subjects are architecture and travel but his creativity comes into it’s own with his minimalist work which is often graphic, simple, clean and colourful. He seldom uses black and white but for some notable exceptions.
“I often focus on viewpoints and details people walk past everyday without noticing but which somehow still register subconsciously. The aim of my work is to create something interesting and perhaps even beautiful from the mundane through interactions of space, colour and light.”
